Private property

The Port identified 40 trees on private property north and south of SEA and has removed 20 of them, including six trees on Hillgrove Cemetery’s property. The Port is still in negotiation with one property owner in Burien to remove the remaining trees.

The Port coordinated directly with all private property owners on scopes of work specific to each of their properties and on permanent easements on the properties should any trees require removal in the future.

The Port offered to plant lower-height replacement trees for any trees removed on private property. In addition, the Port intends to replant four trees on Port property for every one tree removed on private property which equates to 160 trees.
